CHECKLIST FOR RESIDENCE PERMIT SUBMISSION
Please tick each box to check whether your student fulfills all requirements – if not, there is a high chance the visa will be rejected.
☐ The name of student indicated in the passport should be the SAME on all submitted documents. If the name has changed, an official document must be submitted about the name change.
☐ The study gap should not be more than 3-4 years, and the student must be able to explain why he needs that programme in his career.
☐ The school results of the student cannot be very low (e.g., they must have a BA degree with at least 50% overall result).
☐ The student must be able to do a simple maths test during the visa interview if asked. Please find attached a sample test that you can have them do.
☐ All MSc students must have a Bachelor’s degree.
☐ The Consulate requires an English language certificate, at least B2 level (we will certify their level based on the IBS English test if they do not have any other language certificate, but it is better if they obtain one).
☐ The student should apply for a study visa ALONE, not with a wife/husband/children. Once the student has obtained the study visa, the dependents can apply for a dependant visa.
☐ All official documents must be signed, stamped, and bear authentication signs. In certain countries, it means that all documents must be certified by a notary public and the ministry of foreign affairs.
☐ The bank statement must indicate the currency of the account.
☐ There should be REGULAR income on the account, and it must be going back to 6 months prior to the visa application.
☐ The source of payments on the bank account must be proved with official documents (cash payments or company accounts are NOT accepted).
☐ The relationship with the sponsor (father, mother, or legal guardian) must be proved with documents (birth certificates).
☐ Students must know the basics of Hungary (geography, currency, capital, etc.) and the IBS programme details.
☐ All students must provide the details of the on-campus Residence Hall for their accommodation in Hungary (even if they do not intend to stay there).
